Amebiasis of the Uterus1

Damaso de Rivas

The author, to the best of his knowledge, believes this to be the first case of amebiasis of the uterus to be reported in this country.

The invasion of the sex organs by amebas opens a new field of investigation as to the probable transmission of Endamoeba histolytica by sexual intercours.

Received February 22, 1944.
1 Read at the Thirty-Ninth Annual Meeting of the American Society of Tropical Medicine, Cincinnati, Ohio, November 16–18, 1943.
