Non-Tropical Sprue

A Case Report

Alfred C. Reed
From the Division of Preventive Medicine, University of California Medical School, San Francisco

A case of non-tropical sprue is reported which had never been outside of California. Etiologic possibilities include a previous amebiasis and earlier, now cured, gastro-intestinal adhesions. It is believed that this is a true case of non-tropical sprue and that it is not the same as a true endemic sprue.

Received November 18, 1938.
