This work contains practically all that is known regarding that very interesting condition called "Blackwater Fever" and a perusal of it will convince even the most optimistic that the etiology of the condition is still unexplained and that much still remains to be accomplished before this mysterious "symptom-complex," or, as some would have it, "disease entity" is thoroughly understood. The author has placed upon record in this volume the essential data that have been accumulated regarding the synonymy, geographical distribution, history, etiology, symptoms, prognosis, treatment and prophylaxis of the condition, as well as those relating to the pathology of the blood, urine and feces, as well as the general pathology. There are 25 appendices containing much useful information and especially valuable are those relating to cinchona and quinine.
