Chas. F. Craig

Taylor's well known Practice of Medicine has now reached its fifteenth edition, which demonstrates the value of the work and its popularity with the English profession. This particular edition is of special interest to practitioners in the subtropics and tropics because it contains a section devoted to the "Diseases of the Tropics," covering 129 pages, written by Dr. N. Hamilton Fairley, as well as one devoted to Diseases of the Skin, written by Dr. H. W. Barber.

The section upon "Diseases of the Tropics" considers in a brief but generally satisfactory manner all of the diseases that are usually classed as prevalent especially in the tropics and sub-tropics, while that upon "Diseases of the Skin" includes many that are of special interest to tropical physicians. There can be no doubt that these two sections add greatly to the value of the work, and admirably fulfill the object of presenting to the English student a somewhat more comprehensive survey of the subjects that are treated than is usually furnished in text-books upon medicine.
